Pure luck!

 I have a confession.

It is SO incredibly hard to take a bad photo at the Oregon coast.

Anywhere you look, there is extraordinary nature, colors and things you will see nowhere else in the world!

Just point your phone/camera and push the button. How can you go wrong?

The Oregon coast makes a magic we can all share.

However, being a coast kid, and living here, gives me a distinct advantage in the picture taking realm.

I live 5 minutes from the beach....

There have been days where it has rained all day while I was at work. Suddenly at 3:25 (I am off at 3:30) the clouds part! I can be on the sand in 5 minutes.

When I am on the beach I am pulled in different ways. I am looking for agates in the sand.

I am looking at the cool driftwood

And just flat watching the waves....

And just overall enjoying the Oregon Coast that I love.

I try to never leave the house without a phone, a point and shoot camera, and binoculars. When you live here, there is no telling what you will see. I want to be ready for anything,

Then there was yesterday...

As I left work it just looked like an evening to remember....

The sky was alive, the colors were aglow, and anyone who lived here knew it was a night to walk the beach!

Readers, I would never call myself a photographer. I just like to share photos. Sunsets and nature are my favorite things to take photos of.

For example, I called this one sunset beach yoga.

If the bird is gonna pose....

So a bit later, I was wanting another seagull to pose for me with the color of the sky behind her. She FINALLY posed perfectly, and I pushed the button. This is what I got...

Ladies and gents, without question the VERY VERY best photo I have ever taken!

I will admit I made the decision to stop and zoom in on said bird. However, Poseidon, the god of the ocean itself chose to send the wave! I am damn lucky I hit the button and it was in focus.

So why the post, what is moral?

Keep an eye on the world around you. Stop for a few minutes to see what there is to see...

Be ready! Ferris Bueller said once: "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once and awhile, you could miss it!"

Living at the Oregon Coast reaffirms this! Us coast kids keep aware!

Those with their eyes open see some amazing things. Those who release the stress of the real world can experience the ocean, those who take the time, can share the love of the Oregon Coast.

These are  my goals...

Live life!

Share the love with those who love me!

Find the beauty that is the Oregon coast.

Ignore that does not matter so I don't miss the beauty of the world.

And, honestly, live the creed. "Just be you and screw the world!"

Thanks for stopping by!

in au could miss it.

  4. Thanks for being an inspiration to "just be you and screw the world". I do envy you living within 5 minutes of the beach, it takes about an hour and a half to get to the nearest beach to my home, so I only make it out there about once a month. The drive, however, is worth it.
